The defense is the supposed weak point of the Detroit Lions according to national pundits, especially after the team gave up 38 points it is first home game against the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday.

Thus far against the Washington Commanders in week two, however, the defense is putting on a show.

The Lions led Washington 22-0 as of the writing of this article, with the defensive line, namely Charles Harris, forcing a safety that had the crowd and the entire team buzzing.

Number two overall NFL Draft pick Aidan Hutchinson out of Michigan came off the edge and seemed to cause some duress for the Washington offensive line and quarterback Carson Wentz, while Harris closed in and made the play, much to the delight of Lions fans everywhere.

A little later, Hutchinson, who finished second overall in the 2021-2022 Heisman Trophy voting as a defensive end for the Wolverines, joined in on the fun, recording his first-ever quarterback sack at the NFL level.

Hutchinson also had another sack on the day, after which he gave the fans an ode to his time on ‘Hard Knocks,’ the popular HBO show, with a bit of a Michael Jackson flair to his post-sack celebration.

He followed up with his third a bit later, as the fans went crazy.
