The Detroit Lions are set to open 2023 as one of the favorites to win the NFC. Sports bettors have bet big on a historic season for the Lions, and Penei Sewell and Aidan Hutchinson are a big reason why.

Sewell’s powerful blocking at right tackle gives the Lions a bookend for both the running game and the passing game. Hutchinson, the second year number two overall pick out of Michigan, was ranked as 犀利士

The two Lions stars often go against each other in practice, taking turns in getting the better of each other.

Recently Sewell had high praise for Hutchinson in how he has improved from his rookie season to training camp in 2023.

“Shoutout to Hutch for getting right in the offense,” Sewell said according to Mlive.com. “He’s a lot more stronger, I’ll tell you that.”

Head Coach Dan Campbell echoed Sewell’s sentiments. Hutchinson had 9.5 sacks, 52 total tackles and three interceptions for Detroit last season and could improve on his sensational rookie numbers with more experience.

“Hutch looks good, man,” head coach Dan Campbell said the other day. “Just his mindset, he’s wired the right way. He’s been training. Obviously, putting in the work. He’s pretty smart and conscientious, and he’s a guy I can’t wait to get the pads on because you know he’s really going to show up. His style of play is violent. He’s aggressive.”

Hutchinson himself has extra confidence heading into this season as well.

“The game has slowed down,” he said. “Everything just feels a lot easier, man. I feel like I have a better grasp on what I do and just kind of my position in the scheme and the system. Just being out here today, it’s a lot less tiring. You’re not thinking as much, and I’m just rolling and having fun. It’s just really that experience that’s so critical.”

The Lions open the preseason on August 11 against the Giants at Ford Field.
