Stephen Curry is one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, that much is for certain.

He changed the game with his incredible range and accuracy from three-point land, but few people don’t realize that his given first not isn’t Stephen after all.

Recently, a reported caught Mr. Curry off-guard by calling him by his real name.

The Golden State Warriors phenom reacted with good humor and grace, but also seemed to be caught a bit off-guard by the reporter’s decision to address him in that way.

The video can be seen below.

Stephen Curry’s Father Was One of the Best Charlotte Hornets of All-Time

Wardell, aka Stephen Curry, has a father named Dell Curry who happens to be one of the best Charlotte Hornets of all-time.

Dell averaged over 14 points per game in six of his nine seasons with the Hornets, shooting over 40 percent from three-point range in seven of those seasons.

Dell was a forgotten member of some of the most exciting young basketball teams in Eastern Conference history — teams that never quite reached their potential during their heyday, despite being led by superstar talents including Larry Johnson, Glen Rice and Alonzo Mourning.

The two sharpshooters remain close, with Dell showing up to his son’s games and even his performance at the ESPY Awards recently, where Stephen aka Wardell was the show’s host.

They played a game of H-O-R-S-E recently that was filmed by GQ Magazine cameras.

If you’ve never seen Dell play before, you’ve been missing out.

His highlights clearly show the type of dynamic and scoring ability that Stephen, and to a lesser extent his brother Seth, have been famous for possessing over the course of their NBA careers.

Dell went out with a bang in his final game against the Detroit Pistons, scoring 14 fourth-quarter points for the Toronto Raptors.

It’s just one reason why the Curry family will be forever remembered, long after their playing days are over.
