Tiger Woods is debatably the most iconic golfer of all-time, alongside fellow all-time greats like Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus.

Recently, Woods joined Christopher McDonald, aka Shooter McGavin of ‘Happy Gilmore’ fame, for a promotional spot for the new video game PGA Tour 2K23.

Woods will appear on a video game cover for the first time in a decade when the game comes out this October on Playstation and XBox consoles, even though he hasn’t quite recaptured his vintage championship form since last winning a major (The Masters) in 2019.

The release of the video skit above was accompanied by a picture from the PGA Tour’s official Twitter account shown below.

The league is still the most popular in its sport by a wide margin, but has faced competition from challenger LIV Golf recently.

Golf enthusiast and NBA legend Michael Jordan is also expected to make the cut as a playable character in the game.

Woods has appeared in three tournaments so far this season, and was asked to join a meeting in Wilmington, Delaware, site of the BMW Championship, to share his thoughts on recent developments involving PGA players leaving the tour for the Saudi Arabia-funded LIV.

The tour released an official trailer for the game earlier this week.

Its official release date is October 14. It is available in stores or on Amazon.com for preorder.
