The Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions are on a crash course for Saturday afternoon, in what is poised to become one of the biggest matchups of the 2022-2023 college football season.

The Nittany Lions are 5-0 and ranked number ten in the country, as part of a season that saw them defeat SEC power Auburn on the road by a score of 41-12.

The Wolverines meanwhile are 6-0 and recently became the first team to become bowl eligible on the season with a 31-10 road victory against the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington.

Michigan is ranked fourth in the country, and now the championship-hungry Wolverines are expected to receive support from 28-time Olympic medalist and school alumnus Michael Phelps on the day.

Phelps, a swimmer who has 23 gold medals to his name, holds the all-time records in terms of gold medals overall, gold medals in individual events, and Olympic individual events.

He is expected to serve as Michigan’s honorary captain for Saturday’s game.

The 37-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland has Wolverines fans excited for his appearance.
