Jameson Williams is one of the biggest hopes Detroit Lions fans have for seeing a complete, balanced and explosive offense for the rest of the season going forward.

Williams, the #12 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, showcased incredible talent in just one season with the Alabama Crimson Tide last year, recording 29 receptions for 587 yards and six touchdowns despite only playing in seven games.

Williams enters his 2022-2023 rookie campaign with high expectations, but he’s also coming off of an ACL tear, one of the most difficult injuries to rehab from in football.

Lions fans hoping for a return to the field this season, take note: Williams is back, running and making cuts, according to a post on his Instagram story that has already been viewed over 60,000 times.

Williams was a bit of a risk at pick 12 for Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell and his coaching staff, but he could become the home run threat the Lions’ offensive currently lacks at the wide receiver position, if his limited albeit impressive game film at Alabama is any indication.

The Detroit offense features a former Super Bowl QB in Jared Goff, who is more of a controlled, short-to-midrange passer at this point in his career.

Tight end T.J. Hockensen is an impressive and physically gifted player who does his best work in the mid-range, as is Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is on the verge of tying an NFL record streak among receivers, although his longest reception remains at just 37 yards two years into his Detroit Lions career.

If the Lions are to take the next step, a lot rests on the shoulders of Goff, the passing game, and the defense, as well as Williams or someone else stepping up and becoming a big-play threat.

Williams’ latest video comes on the heels of him running sprints at the Detroit Lions’ practice facility in Allen Park late last month.

Following the latest video, fantasy football pundits nationwide have begun calling for fantasy owners to inquire about trades for the former Alabama phenom.

Whether or not Williams can come close to living up to his lofty expectations in Year One remains to be seen, but he certainly has the speed, athleticism, and awareness to make it happen when he does return to action.

As shown in the highlight video below, Williams plays with reckless abandon and has the opportunity to put the fear of God into opposing defenses from day one — if his latest highlight tape is any indication, it all could come sooner than expected for Detroit Lions fans in 2022.
